WAIT 2010 : Christchurch Harbour Hotel (15th October 2010)
WAIT 2010 was held at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel on Friday 15th October 2010. It was attended by 70 trainees from across the region as well as college tutors & the training program director. Lectures from leaders in the field were given on medico-legal issues, professional development opportunities for trainees and medical screen writing. Trainees had the opportunity to enter the poster competition and six gave oral presentations. The afternoon was finished off with a court room drama.
Oral presentation :-
- Winner - Echogenic technology can improve needle visibility during ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia. Dr Simon Hebard
- Second place - Tourniquet Induced Neuropathy - A case report and audit of practice. Dr James Walker
- Third place - Development and implementation of a pathway to meet the challenges of diagnosing and monitoring ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Dr Adrian Wong
